With just the shut of your eyes or the snap of your fingers you could be dead. Imagine your surroundings being a death trap not knowing what type of deadly animals and plants surround you. Not knowing what is edible and what isn’t edible. Not knowing if your best friend might be plotting your death. This is what the capitol doesn’t tell you about the “Hunger Games.” You might have thought that the Hunger Games was just some game little kids made up with their imagination but it isn’t. It is a game that the capitol created about 73 years ago because of one district rebelling against the “powerful capitol.” The result of district 13 (the district that rebelled) rebelling/ going against what the capitol wanted resulted in that district being destroyed with a nuclear bomb and being wiped out of any living life form. Children fear this game just like children today are scared of things like the darkness, but this “darkness” will haunt you forever.

The capitol also has the districts afraid of rebelling against the “powerful capitol”, because rebelling against the capitol equals death and/or punishments. Just as if you were rebelling against your parents you get your phone, iPod, laptop, or just not being allowed to hang out with your friends as a punishment. This is why I feel as though the theme of the Hunger Games is if you rebel expect consequences because the capitol basically controls the whole entire district but also controls all children from the age of 12-18. They have the children under the palm of his hand because the children that are now 12-18 yrs. old are the future of all districts.

The Hunger Games happen once every year. All the children both male and female names are placed in a jar separated by gender. One male and female is chosen to present the district they come from. Once selected they are then “prettified” to look presentable during the weeks before the actual Hunger Games begin. They fatten you up and make you seem as perfect as possible eliminating any marks such as scars, burns, and cuts (etc.) permanently off your body. They dress the tributes in costumes that represent the district from which you came from. But what they don’t tell you are after all the celebrating, dressing you up, and feasting they throw you in the arena as if you were a turkey leg in a pond of piranhas. Be careful because the capitol hypnotizes tributes into believing they are living a dream and snatch all of that away and make you live a nightmare you would never ever forget.
over all your blog is very well written. the deep details in your blog lets me create a picture of what the book is like. the sentance i thought was the best well written was : "they throw you in the arena as if you were a turkey leg in a pond of piranhas" i love it!
I just love this book. Men generally give more directives with fewer courtesy words. Unlike women whose language tends to be indirect, indiscreted, tactful, and even, manipulative. Women tend to give fewer directives and use more courtesy words, with those directives. I feel as though this is a main reason why guys sometimes don’t understand what we say sometimes and that’s why we dumb down what we want to say sometime.
